Italian Steak Sandwich
INGREDIENTS
  • 2 lean beef steaks
  • 1 x 5ml sp (1tsp) oil from jar of sundried tomatoes
  • 6 sundried tomatoes, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 8 black or green olives, pitted and chopped
  • Salt and black pepper
  • 2 x 15ml sp (2tbsp) half fat creme fraiche
  • 1 ciabatta bread, sliced

Method (Serves 2)

Heat the oil in the frying pan and cook steak as chart above. Remove from pan and keep warm. Add the remaining ingredients except the creme fraiche and cook for 1-2 minutes. Stir through the creme fraiche.

Serve steak as a sandwich with slices of ciabatta, a large mixed salad and a spoonful of the Italian mixture or serve steak whole with a pile of new potatoes and vegetables.

  Medium 4 mins
Well done 6 mins
Fillet steaks 2-3cm (¾ - 1¼ inches) Rare 3-4 mins
  Medium 4-5 mins
Well done 6-7 mins
