Red Meat Strategic Forum
The Northern Ireland Red Meat Industry established in September 2010 a Strategic Forum to build on the successful format of the Red Meat Industry Task Force which concluded its formal working arrangements. The Red Meat Strategic Forum incorporates senior members from the organisations which participated in the Task Force (UFU, NIMEA, LMC, DARD, Invest NI, NBA, NSA, NIAPA and AFBI) and, with the vision of a sustainable and profitable red meat industry for Northern Ireland, is actively working on issues of strategic importance to the industry.
The Strategic Forum has three specialist sub groups to take forward the strategic work priorities that have been agreed. The three sub groups are:
- Climate Change & Environment
- Sustainable Livestock Systems & Supply Chain
- Red Meat Processing Technology, Capability & Capacity
