Prices for prime cattle are being quoted as 266-268p/kg across the major plants. Producers who finish cattle within current plant specifications (typically FQ assured, under 30 months, 280-380kg, within a range of specified grades and some restrictions on number of movements/time spent on last farm by individual plants) can attract an 8p bonus.
Prices for cows remain fairly constant and are quoted between 205 and 214pkg
Prices at the plants for hoggets this week are 385-390p/kg. Prices at the marts remain strong for hoggets and ewes. |
