Cattle quotes firmer

Prices for prime cattle have increased by 2-4p at some plants, with others slightly firmer for good heifers.  Quotes are currently 240-242p for U3 grade steers and heifers, mostly 240p.  Cows have also increased by 4-6p to 185-190p.

Hoggets 280-285p

Hogget quotes have increased by 10p at a couple of plants to 285p, with other likely to rise to that level from 280p.  Mart prices have also risen compared to the week before.  Latest mart prices (p/kg):

·        Donemana (Sat 9 Feb):  hoggets 241-290p

·        Omagh (Sat 9 Feb):  hoggets 209-267p

·        Swatragh (Sat 9 Feb):  hoggets 250-292p

·        Crumlin:  hoggets 265-292p
