Cattle Prices Increase

Quotes for prime cattle have increased by 4p and some plants were at 254-256p for U3 grades, with others trailing slightly at 252-254p.  All the factories reported that supplies were tight, which was the reason for the increase.  Cows were firmer at some plants at 206-210p.

Hoggets 330p

Quotes for hoggets are unchanged today at 320-330p, although with prices rising at the marts they could increase later in the week at the plants.  Spring lambs were unchanged at 400p.  Latest mart prices (p/kg):

·        Donemana (Sat 29 Mar):  hoggets 323p, spring lambs 387p

·        Omagh (Sat 29 Mar):  hoggets 234-307p, spring lambs 348-395p

·        Swatragh (Sat 29 Mar):  hoggets 300-341p

·        Crumlin:  hoggets 290-344p
