Further Cattle Price Increases

Quotes for prime cattle have increased by 4p at some plants to 256-260p for U3 grades, mostly 258-260p.  Prices have increased because cattle supplies remain tight.  Cows were unchanged at some plants, but they increased 10p at others to 210-220p. 

Hoggets 330-350p

Quotes for hoggets have fallen 10p at one plant to 330p, but they are unchanged elsewhere at 350p.  Spring lambs are mostly unchanged at 400p, but one factory dropped its prices 20p to 380p.  Latest mart prices (p/kg):

·        Donemana (Sat 5 Apr):  hoggets 365p, spring lambs 399p

·        Omagh (Sat 5 Apr):  hoggets 260-299p, spring lambs 325-355p

·        Swatragh (Sat 5 Apr):  hoggets 300-330p, spring lambs 380-390p

·        Crumlin:  hoggets 280-320p, spring lambs 370-400p
