OCDS rate rises £9 in April 2008

The Older Cattle Disposal Scheme rate for April 2008 increased by £8.94/head to £232.37 for pre August 1996 cattle.  The payment rate increased because the Euro has increased by four per cent between the end of February and March 2008, which has resulted in higher converted prices.  Due to those currency fluctuations the current payment in Sterling terms is £12/head higher than in April 2007, despite a 10 per cent cut in the Euro payment rate.
