Prime cattle prices move slowly upwards

Quotes were firmer at some plants at 266p for U3 grade steers and heifers.  Other factories indicated no change at 264-266p U3.  All the plants indicated that supplies were slow and the were indications of a few more deals going above the quoted levels.  Cows increased by 2-4p at a couple of factories, but others were unchanged with quotes at 230/232/234p/kg.

Lambs unchanged 320p

Lambs were unchanged at 320p at the plants, but the mart trade was firmer.  Yesterday's marts prices were:

·        Crumlin:  lambs 310-330p

·        Kilrea: lambs 330-355p
