Are Your SIRLOINS Ready For Valentines Night? Ref:
Tuesday 12th February 2008 Music might have been the food of love for Shakespeare but real life lovers would probably prefer something more substantial on Valentine's Day. So why not prepare something special for your loved one.
In Northern Ireland beef and lamb are by far the preferred foods that set the mood for romance. The Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC) for Northern Ireland says, "It seems that when it comes to Valentines, whether it is a meal eaten in a restaurant or at home, romantic couples opt for a succulent steak or luscious lamb to woo their other half."
Looking at the nutrients it's not difficult to see why: -
Beef and lamb are rich in iron, zinc, vitamin B12 and protein – all the essential nutrients to work wonders on the brain not to mention the libido. After eating beef or lamb your blood stream is flooded with amino acid tyrosine. This triggers brain cells that enhance mental alertness, concentration and energizes the body's functions.
So to set that special someone's heart a flutter cook them up a nutrient power pack meal, a saucy steak or a cheeky chop. It should stimulate desire in almost anyone. Certainly "A dish fit for the gods".
