LMC RECRUITMENT Ref:
Wednesday 27th February 2008 TECHNICAL OFFICER The Livestock and Meat Commission for Northern Ireland (LMC) is a Statutory Body charged with responsibility for the strategic marketing of beef and lamb from Northern Ireland and with providing a range of services to the red meat industry. We are now seeking a Technical Officer (Grade 5) to carry out Classification duties at meat plants across Northern Ireland. Initial Headquarters location (a meat plant) will be in the North / North West of Northern Ireland.
This is a mobile post and you will be required to have access to a form of transport to enable you to discharge your duties across Northern Ireland. Full training will be given to the successful candidate.
Salary Range: Grade 5 - £18926 to £21030 - inclusive of anti-social hours supplement (2007 review pending).
Benefits: 20 days annual leave (rising with service) + 9 statutory days, contributory pension scheme (defined benefit scheme), sick pay scheme, private health care scheme, childcare vouchers.
Hours: 37.5 hours p/w on an annualised hours basis of 1950 hours.
Typical start time will be 7am.
Minimum Criteria:
v BTEC National Diploma or equivalent in Food or Agriculture discipline and 2 years relevant experience that clearly demonstrates a sound knowledge of livestock and an interest in meat processing
or
v 5 years relevant experience e.g. practical knowledge of meat processing
This recruitment will be used to generate a reserve list of suitable candidates should any further vacancies arise in the following 12 month period.
