A VIBRANT new recipe book has been created and published by the Livestock and Meat Commission (LMC). From tasty takes on fake aways to firm family favourites the latest LMC recipe book has something for everyone to enjoy. Taking centre stage in all ten recipes is Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured (NIFQA) beef or lamb.
Commenting LMC marketing and communications manager Lauren Patterson said, “Our new recipe book is a compilation of our cookery demonstrators favourite NIFQA beef and lamb recipes. Throughout the year these ladies provide interactive cookery demonstrations in schools across the province and educate the next generation of consumers on the benefits of eating beef and lamb.
“We are delighted to officially launch this recipe book at the beginning of a new academic year and look forward to hearing feedback from teachers and pupils who get the opportunity to sample some of these delicious dishes, all of which have been tailor made to complement the CCEA Nutrition and Food Science GCE and Food and Nutrition GCSE courses.”
In addition to the appetising recipes, this booklet also provides useful information for pupils following CCEA syllabuses.
Lauren continued, “This booklet is packed full of topical information on the Northern Ireland Beef and Lamb Farm Quality Assurance Scheme, food provenance, food safety, food security and sustainability, all of which are covered in either GCSE or GCE syllabuses.
“This new recipe book caters for all occasions, whether you’re looking for a recipe for a family get together or need inspiration for your next practical cookery class be sure to check it out. It is available to download by visiting the resources and publications section of our website, www.food4life.org.uk.
